I received some sad news yesterday. Although I suppose we'd seen it coming.
Egil's cat Trulte was put to sleep. She was old, and in pain, so it was for the best I guess. But it's still really really sad. She was a cranky old lady who didn't let just anyone touch her. But I'll definitely miss her.

So, I had my three wisdom teeth removed, and it took almost 2 and a half hours because -- apparently -- I have "very strong, healthy teeth." Good for me, but bad for Dr Guan and his lovely assistant as they spent over half an hour trying to drill out each tooth. Haha. Urgh. On my last one, I started getting some feeling back and it was quite uncomfortable -- I could feel the vibration from the drill and it wasn't painful or anything, just really annoying. Luckily, I was able to say something (well, I mimed it out as best I could) and they immediately gave me another shot of whatever that was. ^o^;;

It's a really weird experience to have your lower jaw completely numb. I looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I had no control over my lower lip, and that I'd kept sucking it into my mouth so I looked really silly. ^o^;; It was pretty cool, though. Like touching someone else's face. Weird.

I'm not so much bothered by my mouth at all, though. It was tough the first day because I felt like crap and there was a lot of blood and etc, but it is due to my SHIT LUCK that my eyebrow piercing has gotten worse and now I'm dealing with my swollen face AND swollen right now. I look like a boxer. I don't care so much about my swollen jaw but my eye looks totally fucked up. I'd take a photo and show you guys but I don't want to disgust you. Luckily, it's starting to go down, but I've got class on Tuesday and although I want nothing more than to skip until my eye goes back to normal, I know that our final exams are on that day and skipping is not an option.

It's almost the same as what happened during the summer -- my eyebrow's all gross and drippy and crunchy, but I've managed to isolate it to my eyebrow and I've got it under control. Sadly, that alone doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

2009 is seriously NOT my year. *hangs head*

The beginning of this song was going through my head on repeat  at the beginning of the church service. :-P

Church generally works for dark fics and porn. It's rather fascinating, really. Everyone one is yelling, "Amen!" and I'm writing about Castiel and Dean fucking. And then a 5.08 Wincest fic. And then I started on a fic that I was discussing with artimusdin once about Mama Strife and Vincent Valentine but I didn't have time to finish it. :( Oh, well.

...the fact that the male singer looked like the Trickster? Oh, yes.

And then I came home to discovered my dog had destroyed one of my dishes and tried to eat an apple. *glares at Angel* She knows better than that, dammit.
 

Is it horrible that I am planning on going to church tonight in hopes it'll inspire porn? No other reason. That's it.

And don't you hate it when you get into a story and you keep waiting for the action/suspense/something except it never comes? And the author just tells you about how great their relationship is and it's growing and then happily ever after? *pouts* In a short piece, that's fine, but in a longer story, some action would be great. Even just a little bit of a challenge, please?

ETA: And I really, really need to stop being so sensitive. It's amazing I ever pull myself away from books and even mildly interact with people. *facepalm*

Holy fuck. You've got to be kidding me.

The Fort Hood thing? It's so pathetic and it's garnering so much attention that it makes me want to scream.

First off, the fact that a bunch of trained soldiers couldn't take out the shooter but a civvie cop could? Nice going, soldiers. That's going to reflect great on the military. There's a reason we have such confidence in them.

Secondly, the fact that he's a Muslim (or at least, that's what they're saying)? Completely irrelevant. Think he was the first one to go psycho to get out of deploying? Guess again. And the military knew he was having problems before the incident, though only they know the extent. Do you think they cared? Did a full mental evaluation? No. Not if it meant they were going to not have enough people to send overseas. Guess their priorities.

This has a strong possibility of raising a shitstorm in the entirely wrong direction. Focus on the military and how those people were ill-equipped for a combat situation, the same people they were going to send overseas. Focus on the mental instability of those in the military and those they were planning on sending overseas and giving weapons. Focus on the pertinent shit and not just the sensationalist shit or what makes Them good targets for Us. *snarls* Just remember: if he was having mental problems then, there's a great chance he was having mental problems before, possibly before even signing up. And these are the people they're happily teaching how to shoot and kill.

Why do I read the news again? Why?

The attention-getter on the news page? About why men can't commit. Beside it, the same exact size of something about Suri (who cares? really?), is the thing about the Fort Hood shootings. Nice priorities.

While reading on the Fort Hood shootings, I made the mistake of clicking on a link. It dealt with makeovers. Maybe these people didn't fit what everyone else  felt was trendy, but I think it's safe to say they were comfortable and individualistic. If they like trying new styles and such, a makeover is cool, but if you have to bully someone into it so they fit your perception of "good" and "pretty," you're doing something wrong. *snarls*
